When I’m working with clients, I adapt my approach depending on the needs of individual, couple or family sitting in front of me. My main priority is that no matter who I am working with, therapy is taking place in a space where you feel heard, seen and validated. I work from a client-centered approach which means therapy is taken at a pace that feels comfortable for you. When working with couples and individuals I will often work from an Emotion-Focused (EFT) perspective, to understand and explore more deeply rooted feelings and emotions.
Individual psychotherapy focuses on your subjective experience. We’ll work together to make sure you get the most out of the therapeutic process. Therapy is taken at your pace, ensuring you feel safe, validated and heard every step of the way. My work is client-centered and trauma-informed. Because each client is at different stages in their lives or journeys, I often adapt how I work to ensure treatment is effective for you. I believe that everyone has the capacity to grow, and constantly learn more about themselves no matter where in life you are, and I look forward to helping you get there.
In couples therapy the client becomes the relationship. Working together, we will explore how each of your past histories, family dynamics and experiences have shown up in your relationship. Often with couples I will use an emotionally focused approach to understand your patterns of communication as a couple, and work on accessing and expressing more vulnerable emotions to get to the root of the problem.
Family systems, dynamics and patterns can be deep rooted and complex. It is important that within a family unit, each voice is heard and understood. Family therapy focuses on ensuring each member has an opportunity to express their experiences within the family. Whether family is biological or chosen, it is meant to be a safe place to always return to and it would be a privilege to help you and your loved ones feel at home again.

I provide all clients with a complimentary 15 minute consultation call to get to know each other, and for you to ask any questions you may have about what therapy will be like with me.
