Strengths-Based Therapy
Hi, I’m Sarah, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered
Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
Over time, many of us begin living according to stories that were written for us rather than by us.
Whether those stories were shaped by family, culture, relationships, past experiences, or the
ways we’ve learned to survive, they can slowly pull us away from ourselves. I believe therapy
offers the space and opportunity to pause, explore those stories with compassion, and begin
writing ones that feel more authentic to the people we are today.
My goal in therapy is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted –
not because you have everything figured out, but because you don’t have to. I approach each
person with curiosity, openness, and the belief that your experiences make sense in the context
of what you’ve lived through. We’ll explore your story, honour the strengths that have carried
you this far, and gently make space for new possibilities. whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply curious about yourself and the
patterns in your life, I would be honoured to walk alongside you. My hope is that therapy
becomes a place where you can meet yourself with greater compassion, rediscover the parts of
yourself that may have been hidden beneath expectations or survival, and leave each session
feeling a little more connected to who you truly are.
My work is grounded primarily in Narrative Therapy, which views people as separate from the
problems they experience. Together, we’ll explore the stories, beliefs, and identities that may no
longer be serving you while reconnecting with the values, strengths, and hopes that have
always been part of who you are. I also incorporate approaches such as CBT, ACT, Solution-
Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed care so we can tailor therapy to your unique needs and
goals.
I support people across the lifespan who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life
transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem, intimate partner violence, and emotional
overwhelm, among many more concerns. Having worked with people from diverse cultural,
religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds, I am deeply committed to providing culturally
responsive care where every part of your identity is respected.
Being a bilingual therapist, I also offer therapy in both English and Urdu. I believe language
should never be a barrier to feeling understood, and I am passionate about making mental
health care more accessible so that you can express yourself in ways that feel truest to you.
